Chinese dragons are quite different from European dragons. Their bodies are more like snakes, less like dinosaurs, and they’re usually bright red or gold. Both are often depicted flying, but Chinese dragons don’t generally have wings. Finally, while European dragons are often (but not always!) depicted as malevolent creatures who terrorize villagers and must be slayed, Chinese dragons are symbols of power, wisdom, good luck and good fortune.
